万达集团是全国最早推行环保节能建筑的企业之一。2001年，万达在大连开发雍景台项目时，在国家没有出台建筑节能相关规定的情况下，主动采用外墙保温材料等系列新工艺，能耗降低70%以上，创造了东北住宅建筑史上的奇迹。雍景台2004年获得建筑工程质量鲁班奖，是当年全国唯一获得鲁班奖的住宅项目，同时也是东北地区历史上第一个获得鲁班奖的住宅项目。
Wanda Group is one of enterprise that carried out the eco-friendly and energy-saving buildings earliest nationwide. In 2001, when Wanda was developing the project of Yongjing Terrance in Dalian, it adopted series new processes including thermal-insulating materials for external wall of its own accord under the circumstances of no regulations in connection with building energy conservation promulgated by the State, with the energy consumption 70% and more down and a miracle created in the house construction history of the Northeast.Yongjing Terrace won the Lu Ban Prize for Quality of Chinese Construction Projects in 2004, which was the nationwide only residential house project winning the Lu Ban Prize that year and is the first winning Lu Ban Prize in the Northeast on the history.

2002年，万达集团在开发昆明滇池卫城项目时，主动要求做环境影响评估，成为云南省第一个做环境评估的建设项目；同时小区主动自建污水处理厂和雨水收集工程，实现了污染物的零排放。
In 2002, when Wanda Group was developing the project of Dianchi Acropolis in Kunming, it took the initiative in asking for environmental impact assessment and the project became the first one receiving the environmental assessment in Yunnan Province; meanwhile, the residential complex took the initiative in constructing the sewage treatment plant and the rainwater collection project, realizing the zero discharge of pollutants.

2003年，万达集团在南昌开发建筑面积达百万平方米的万达星城时，全国房地产行业中率先在长江以南地区第一个大规模采用外墙保温节能技术，节能率达65%，被评为江西省节能样板小区。
In 2003, when Wanda Group was developing the project of Star City, of which the floorage amounted to 1,000,000m2, in Nanchang, it adopted the external wall thermal insulation energy-saving technology in a considerable scale, as the first one in the nationwide real estate industry to do so in the regions south to Yangtzi River, with the energy-saving rate amounting to 65% and the project appraised as Model Energy-saving Residential Complex of Jiangxi Province.

Wanda Group attaches great importance to energy conservation and consumption reduction of commercial projects. It requests all new construction projects to be in energy-saving design and keeps on the energy-saving reconstruction to projects completed and opened to business. It has retained domestically and overseas topping energy-saving technology enterprises for running three years to do the energy-saving reconstruction of projects already opened to business. In 2007, Wanda Group saved 13,000,000kwh of power and 220,000 tons of water only by dint of energy-saving reconstruction on dozens of projects already opened to business.

For twenty years, Wanda Group has totally donated nearly RMB one billion Yuan to charities, ranking first among the donations of non-governmental enterprises in China. In Dec. of 2007, WANG Jianlin was awarded First “China Guangcai Personage” Prize by United Front Work Department of CCCPC, All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce and China Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Programme. The said prize was awarded for the first time ever since the Guangcai Programme was originated 13 years ago and nationwide only ten entrepreneurs won such a special honor.

In March of 2007, Wanda Group was titled as “Domestic-funded Enterprise with Most Love” in Second “China Charity Prize” by Ministry of Civil Affairs. “China Charity Prize” is the top state government prize in Chinese social public welfare and charity causes and annually honors only ten enterprises, organizations and individuals; Wanda Group is the first and only one honored among nationwide five million privately-run enterprises.

作为国内最早出资建大学的企业，1994年，万达集团投资5亿元建设了占地106万平方米、建筑面积30万平方米的大连大学；近几年，万达集团又陆续向大连大学捐助2500万元。
As the domestically first enterprise of sponsoring to build a university, in 1994, Wanda Group invested 0.5 billion Yuan and constructed Dalian University covering a land area of 1,060,000 m2, with a floorage of 300,000m2, and has donated another 25 million Yuan to Dalian University successively in recent years.

万达集团十余年坚持捐助对口扶贫单位普兰店市俭汤乡太阳村，通过帮助建立工程队、果树基地、养猪场、冷库等，使该村从普兰店全市最贫困的地区发展到较好的水平。
Wanda Group has insisted in donating to Taiyang Village, Jiantang Township, Pulandian, the counterpart in poverty relieving program, and enabled the said village to evolve into a better level from the most poverty-bitten region in Pulandian by means of helping the village set up the construction team, the fruit tree base, the pig farm and the refrigerating warehouse etc.

2005年6月，万达集团带头向大连市有关部门捐助500万元，成立了全国首支农民工援助基金，并决定从2007年起为该基金每年注资100万元，使基金规模达到1000万元。
In June of 2006, Wanda Group took the lead to donate 5 million Yuan to Dalian municipal departments and organs concerned to set up the first aid foundation for rural migrant workers. Further, Wanda Group decides to input one million Yuan into the said foundation every year since 2007, enabling the foundation scale to reach ten million Yuan.

2007年，辽宁省遭遇百年一遇的暴风雪灾害，万达集团第一个向大连和沈阳两市遭受暴风雪灾害的地区共捐款700万元，带动两市企业纷纷捐款。
In 2007 Liaoning Province suffered from a storm heavies in recent one hundred years. Wanda Group was the first one to make a donation to suffered regions in Dalian and Shenyang, with totally seven million Yuan contributed, which led to the subsequent donations made by enterprises in these two cities.

万达集团在全集团范围内举办了“访贫问苦”活动,集团总部和全国各地分公司全体员工每年都组织去当地最贫困的地区进行走访和慰问。
Wanda Group carries out the activity of “Visit the Poor” in the whole group and organizes staffs in both the headquarters and the subsidiaries to visit the poor in the most undeveloped regions locally every year.

2006年，万达集团在大连成立了全国首个民营企业义工分会，同时全集团各地分公司也加入义工组织，每个员工每年至少做一次义工。
In 2006, Wanda Group founded the nationwide first Privately-run Enterprise Volunteer Branch Association; meanwhile, subsidiaries of Wanda Group all over the country join in the volunteer organizations and every employee would do the volunteer work at least once a year.

In August of 2007, a central investigation group, which was consisted of departments and commissions, such as CPPCC, United Front Work Department of CCCPC, All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce (ACFIC), All China Federation of Trade Union and Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and led by Mr. HUANG Mengfu, Vice Chairman of CPPCC and Chairman of ACFIC, investigated in the situation that Wanda Group fulfilled the social responsibilities; later, the central investigation group thought highly of Wanda Group and Mr. HUANG Mengfu commented that “Wanda Group represents the direction of development for Chinese enterprises.”
